Mission opens new women’s shelter
This month marks a major milestone for the Rescue Mission Alliance Victor Valley, as we officially open our new women’s shelter. We feel blessed to be able to expand in this way, and look forward to even more growth in the future.
In our desert, the need for shelter is so apparent—all you have to do is drive down any of our main roads and you see camps in the open fields and behind large, empty shopping centers. This shelter will open up opportunities of restoration to those who are broken, and living in harsh and unrelenting conditions.
To start, the shelter will house six unaccompanied women for 90 days as we work on getting their needs met. We anticipate growing the shelter into a full Life Recovery Program that accepts women, as well as women with children, in the near future.
This is an amazing answer to prayer and is a result of giving from you, our faithful donors. This is only the beginning. Please be in prayer with us that God will bring us the clients who want to experience real life change, and an overflowing abundance of resources to help our neighbors in need.
If you know a woman in need of shelter, please call 760-955-5958. If you’d like more information or would like to help, feel free to reach out to me at 760-927-3140 or bedwards@erescuemission.org, or to Program Manager John Schmidt at 760-493-8434 or jschmidt@erescuemission.org.
If you’d like to help us stock our new shelter with essentials like hygiene kits, Bibles, bras, underwear and pajamas, feel free to drop items by the Mission at 15772 7th St. in downtown Victorville. If you’re interested in volunteering, please call 760-955-5958. We have many opportunities available for you to serve those in need. Or if you’d like to make a monetary donation, visit vvrescuemission.org/donate.
Thank you for your continued support. We are excited to extend our services out to the women in our area who need help, and are grateful to you for coming Bill Edwards, director of the Rescue Mission Alliance Victor Valley. alongside us in our mission to Change Lives for Good.
Blessings,
Bill Edwards, Director
