We Can Do It!

Thrift store employee, Rosie, embodies all the hard work and determination of the World War II, muscle-bound, icon who shares her name. That was Rosie the Riveter. Her motto, “We Can Do It!”, is shared by our Rosie as well.

She states, “Prior to this building turning into a thrift store it used to be a hardware store and I worked there for several years. During that time, Director Bill Edwards would come over and tell me, ‘One day, if you ever need a job, you can come work for us.’ So when he found out the hardware store was closing, he came over and said, ‘Don’t forget to come see me.’ I applied, got the job, and everything worked out. I started as a cashier, worked hard, and was promoted to Assistant Manager. I have many responsibilities here. I do what it takes to get the job done.”

Explaining her work ethic, Rosie says, “I am proud to work here because of the environment. It’s a place of integrity. We are doing God’s work not just for the paycheck, but for the homeless so they can be clothed and maybe hear the Word of God, which may encourage them. These are the things that we work for. Because they know we pray as a team every morning, some loyal customers come in just to have us pray for them.”

Stop by the thrift store some time and see their, “We Can Do It!” attitude. Shop and find quality, right-priced items.
