Welcoming a new year at the Mission
How can it be the New Year already? Looking back at 2021, if I had to sum up how I feel about 2021, I’d say it simply: “Our God is awesome.” We got front row seats to watch God accomplish so many things, including seeing three clients graduate our men’s Life Recovery Program and four men move in to independent housing.
We also celebrated the opening of our women’s shelter in November, where six women are provided a safe Christian environment for 90 days to begin the journey down a healthy path out of homelessness and brokenness. So to say it was an exciting year is an understatement of the utmost proportions!
What continues to amaze me is just how all of you give of your time, talent, and treasure to make sure we can continue to serve our neighbors in need. Your gifts to the Mission create the opportunity to engage in a relationship with individuals experiencing homelessness. Your support allows us to offer outreaches of all kinds: food, showers, hot meals, clothing and hygiene. All of these outreaches are opportunities to connect with our neighbors and help build trust to offer services, and end their homelessness.
You are that important to this work. Your partnership, the gifts, and support, gives us all here at the Mission so much faith in what God wants to accomplish. Thank you for helping in being the hands and feet of Jesus. Romans 10:15 says “And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!’”
May you be blessed in this New Year!
