Bill’s Boots on the Ground: Promises kept
We have been busy here at the Mission, as our services have continued—and even multiplied—through the past year of the Covid-19 pandemic. We are still serving our neighbors in need every day with resources, for it is through these connections with our guests that the Amazing Grace happens.
You see, each time we can connect with a guest, we are developing trust. Many of our homeless guests have been promised help with so many aspects of their life, only to have these promises broken. I have had many conversations over the years with men and women who have been let down. The Victor Valley Rescue Mission has been here in the Victor Valley for 20 years serving those who need help, committing to keeping our promises to take care of those in need. We will continue to seek the lost, support the broken hearted, love those who are told they are unlovable—all in the name of Jesus. He seeks the lost, heals broken hearts, and loves unconditionally.
This is what your support allows us to do here at the Mission. We get to keep promises to our guests, showing them the love of Christ. We are looking forward to the promise of Revelation 21: 3-4: “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.’”
This will be an amazing moment of God’s promises kept! Thank you for being our promise keepers, helping us show the homeless guests that we can be trusted, and help them with a hand up and out of homelessness.
