Bill’s Boots On The Ground – August

VVRM Billie

When I was a kid I got stuck in the mud trying to cross a field near my house. The mud was over a foot deep and every step I took, I sank past my knees. I even lost the new boots I had received as a gift—I was in trouble for that one—I think those boots are still there! It wasn’t until I called out for help that my brother and my friends came and helped me. They laid down pieces of wood so I could stand on them; I remember they had to build a bridge to me so I could get to solid ground.

Homelessness can feel a lot like being stuck in mud. With each challenging step, you find yourself still knee deep and struggling to get out. The broken, lost, and hurting often feel completely alone and cry out. Too often, their cries go unanswered. Your donations help the mission to be their bridge, a hand up to solid ground for so many. Thank you!

I waited patiently for the LORD; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. (Psalm 40:1-2)
